International Service Projects
Making the world a smaller, friendly place through international service
- Kenyan Projects - For many years, Oshkosh Rotary Southwest has worked with African citizens in the area around Machacos, Kenya. Past projects have included rural electrification and providing running water, and the club is currently engaged in a project to assist the process of building a hospital for the community.
- Peruvian Projects - The club has worked in and around Lima, Peru for many years now, starting by working with an orphanage to assist hundreds of children by providing funding and on-site assistance to the orphanage. The club's current projects in Peru are focused on the installation and supply of "Soy Cow" machines which produce a healthy milk substitute from soybeans. The five soy cows currently provide thousands of servings of soy milk per day.
- Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange - For almost 30 years, the Club and its members have been sponsoring and hosting foreign exchange high school-age students from abroad for a year in the U.S.
- Outbound Rotary Youth Exchange - The Club recruits American students to spend a year studying in a foreign country in the sponsorship of another Rotary club.
- Sponsorship of Student Attendance at World Affairs Seminar - Each July, the Club sponsors four Oshkosh high school students to attend a World Affairs Seminar at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater campus.
- Host Flying Rotarians in a picnic at the EAA Air Venture Convention - Each year, in partnership with the other two Oshkosh Rotary clubs, the Club hosts Rotarians from all over the world to a picnic with a special guest speaker at the annual EAA Convention.
